Our History
Early 2000s
Couture Intimate Cosmetics
In the early 2000s, Luz founded Luz de la Riva Couture Intimate Cosmetics, a namesake brand offering a luxurious line of natural pheromone-infused perfumes, water-based lubricants, massage oils, lotions, candles, and bath products. Inspired by natural aphrodisiacs and appealling scents, Luz created "Everyday Sexy" products that elevate sexuality from the traditional, adult industry porn image.
Each product featured a beautifully illustrated woman on its packaging, embodying a distinct personality and style. These products honored women's sexuality, offering a sensorial experience that was both indulgent and sophisticated. The result was undeniable—women and couples around the world fell in love with Luz de la Riva.
2015
Luz de la Riva goes to Nordstroms
In 2015, Luz de la Riva became the first adult brand available in Nordstrom stores across the U.S. and Canada. Luz refers to this achievement as "crossing the road from the adult industry into the general market".
Edible massage oils (Dulce de Leche and Forbidden Fruit flavored) and silk Swarovski encrusted mask and restraints were gorgeously showcased in the lingerie department, blending seamlessly with the elegant surroundings and encouraging shoppers to embrace pleasure in a sophisticated and fashionable way.
2016
Legalization of Cannabis
The legalization of cannabis marked a bold new chapter in the real-life House of Luz de la Riva. "The cannabis industry presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to redefine sexuality and to truly live as full adults", says Luz.

Luz's youngest, Luna joined the family business after graduating from college. In this new venture Luz and her daughter Luna bring all the brains, beauty, and brawn one needs to navigate the legal cannabis industry, and passion and committment that few can match.

In November 2019 (on Luz’s late mother’s birthday no less), House of LDLR was honored as one of ten recipients of Eaze’s inaugural Momentum Accelerator Grant. This $50,000 award, coupled with a 10-week mentorship program, aimed to foster the success of underrepresented cannabis entrepreneurs, providing critical resources and access to industry-leading investors.
2023
Welcome to the World, Sixty-Nine
On New Year’s 2023, House of LDLR made a groundbreaking debut with Sixty-Nine, the world’s first “Cannapagne”—a sparkling THC beverage that redefines the traditional champagne experience by infusing it with the sensory effects of pure nano THC cannabis extract.
2023
Congressional Recognition for Social Equity
On April 20, 2023, House of LDLR received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Barbara Lee. This honor celebrated their commitment to social equity and trailblazing leadership in the cannabis industry, helping to establish Oakland as a hub for small and minority-owned cannabis businesses.
